Max PCB size: 130 × 135 mm (5 × 5")

The JBC PHSE-2KB Preheater Set is designed to prevent thermal shock when reworking multilayer PCBs. By preheating the board before soldering or rework operations, the system reduces thermal stress and helps protect sensitive electronic components.

This complete solution combines the PHSE heater unit with the PHSS adjustable PCB support, making it ideal for reworking small to medium-sized PCB assemblies commonly used in the electronics industry.

The system offers reliable temperature control and accurate thermal regulation to ensure safe and consistent PCB heating during repair and rework processes.

Heating system

The preheater provides a selectable heating surface for precise temperature control:

  • 65 × 135 mm (2.6 × 5.3 in) – single heating zone
  • 130 × 135 mm (5.1 × 5.3 in) – two heating zones

Peak power: 800 W

Work modes

The system features three operating modes:

Power Mode
Allows working at a fixed power level with the option of using a protection thermocouple.

Temperature Mode
Maintains the PCB at a selected temperature using a regulation thermocouple and optional protection thermocouples.

Profile Mode
Controls the heating rate of the PCB using control and protection thermocouples without exceeding recommended temperature limits.
The system supports 22 temperature profiles with up to 16 steps each.

Up to four thermocouples can be connected for accurate monitoring and protection.

PCB Support

The PHSS PCB Support can be easily adjusted to accommodate different PCB sizes and layouts.
It offers three adjustable clearance positions:

  • 28 mm
  • 50 mm
  • 70 mm

This ensures stable and secure PCB positioning during soldering and rework operations.
